In January 2019, Wold was selected to partner with Jeffco Schools to design a renovation and addition project at Alameda International School. Alameda is a grade 7-12 International Baccalaureate School, serving a diverse community in Lakewood, Colorado. Originally constructed in 1961 with several additions, the facility was in need of a major renovation to meet current needs and prepare for the future.
A design advisory group (DAG) was engaged to provide input on the project during pre-design and schematic design, comprised of parents, students, administration and staff, and Jeffco facilities and planning staff. A comprehensive planning effort combined input from the DAG and work with the facilities and planning and operations and maintenance staff to meet Alameda’s current needs as well as District educational specifications and technical guidelines. A portion of the existing facility was demolished and the addition provides for current and future program needs.
