Wold Architects and Engineers had an opportunity to work with the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District to design a pool and supporting structures. This facility will be available to the school district and community at-large and will be accessible by the summer of 2021.
Wold worked with the District to design a pool that is serviceable year round. To do so, an outdoor pool was to be accompanied by an inflatable dome. This 12,000-square-foot structure enables the pool to be used by the community and District not only throughout the summer months, but also throughout the colder, winter months. The two lane pool can be accessed by a gradual zero entry. It is also accompanied by a diving board, basketball hoops and lounge space on the pool deck.
A support building was designed in tandem with the pool. This 5,500-square-foot building also serves the athletic stadium and houses concessions, lobby, public toilets and the ticket booth. This building also includes; locker rooms, a staff workroom, and a birthday party room. Due to its large variety of accommodations and ability to be used year round, this pool will be a great addition to the community.
