In 2022, our team was engaged by the City of Becker to perform a detailed space needs assessment for its Police and City Hall facility. The study aimed to evaluate the building's condition and determine solutions for reinvestment in the existing building as well as expansion, with the goal of enhancing functionality, creating a better user experience and incorporating modern trends and practices. In 2023, the city approved the project, which aimed to completely remodel the existing police station while expanding its footprint to provide adequate space for administrative offices, patrol officers and support spaces like new locker rooms and evidence processing areas.
The plan included provisions for garage space to safeguard the city’s investment in police vehicles. New entry and lobby spaces were also added, fostering a more inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for the public. This centralized and redesigned lobby serves as the focal point for all public interactions, catering to both City Hall and Police services. Construction for this project is anticipated to complete in early 2025.
