Wold Architects and Engineers is providing professional design and construction administrative services for a new Fire Station for the City of Hendersonville.
The facility includes a day room, men’s and women’s bunk rooms separated by a shared wellness room, captain’s quarters, the apparatus bays, and additional support spaces. A separate office for the City’s Police is also included. This space will be constructed as a storm shelter with a hardened structure and independent building systems. Right off the dayroom, the first responders can enjoy any downtime on their covered outdoor patio.
Located on a corner lot with an adjacent creek, the site does allow for a one way drive. The parking and main public entrance are located at the rear of the building for its best placement on the site and for ease of access to the entrance. The detailed exterior blends with its surrounding environment by including materials such as brick, siding, and wood.
