The City of New Hope commissioned an analysis of their existing buildings that determined space and infrastructure deficiencies at their existing police and city hall facility. The analysis provided multiple options for renovating, adding on and building new at their existing Civic Center Park that would best accommodate city government operations.
Moving forward with building new on their previous outdoor pool site, the City of New Hope assembled a citizen’s task force to incorporate community voices into a facility that functions as a beacon of pride for the residents. The city hall and police facility were designed as the focal point of a renewed civic center while respecting both the surrounding park and neighborhood and the existing buildings on site. The design stresses the need for safety and security in light of an active shooter event at the existing city hall, and ensures that staff, officials, and the public alike feel secure while remaining as an accessible resource to the City of New Hope.
