Wold planned and designed two concurrent vehicle storage buildings for ComEd’s regional sites in Libertyville and Maywood, Illinois.
Each facility was constructed as a pre-engineered metal building to provide indoor storage for construction materials— transformers, switchgear, wire, etc.—that were previously stored outside and indoor and covered parking for line trucks trailers.
By moving this equipment inside, ComEd can better maintain its equipment and provide an improved response to outages in inclement winter weather times. Each facility was designed and constructed on active sites, necessitating integration with existing infrastructure and vehicular circulation.
