Wold Architects and Engineers partnered with the State of Minnesota’s tourism advocate, Explore Minnesota, to create an office space to meet their needs and mission and reflect their values. A tenant of the Ramsey County owned Metro Square Building in St. Paul, Explore Minnesota initially pursued a much needed refresh to their existing space. After exhausting all options and realizing that more area was needed to achieve their objectives, Ramsey County offered the opportunity to move to a vacant space on a different floor within Metro Square. The process of moving to the new space allowed Explore Minnesota to create their ideal work environment without disrupting their existing operations. The team wanted to transform their siloed, individual-focused work environment into a modern office with unique features focused on collaboration. Through a collaborative approach with our team, Wold developed several features that matched the workstyle of the creative individuals who work at Minnesota's tourism agency.
Aspiring to have a space that reflected the organization's collaborative values and aspirations, our team designed an open environment to encourage interaction among the creative team. Features to support this include glass-fronted offices, glass enclosed formal conference spaces open-air informal meeting spaces, and a welcoming reception area. The interior design took inspirations from all parts of Minnesota to inspire Explore Minnesota’s staff every day in their mission of promoting Minnesota as a destination.
