Wold has been a trusted partner to Glencoe Regional Health (GRH) since the early 1980s when they recognized their need to plan and design a new skilled nursing facility. This partnership has continued throughout the years with updates to their original hospital campus and most recently to support their mission of implementing a skilled environments culture change to support resident-centered care. This goal of culture change culminated in transforming the senior living and long-term care environments across their resident campus in Glencoe.
In order to create appropriate households for the senior living and long-term care communities, a new addition was added which consisted of four new households with all private resident rooms. The existing double occupancy, “toe-to-toe” rooms were converted into private rooms with state-of-the-art nurse call technology, private bathrooms with private showers. The existing building serves two households: memory care and a transitional care unit. The addition also allowed the GRH to add a café, beauty barber/salon, chapel, meditation room, a dedicated activity room, and ample meeting spaces for the residents and staff. The net result of this addition and renovation is a unified, modern building that provides Glencoe Regional Health the variety of living environments to enhance the quality of life for their residents and a better work environment for their care team members.
In 2021, Glencoe Regional Health partnered with Wold and Dunham Engineers to complete a facility infrastructure assessment and developed a facilities master plan for all of their system-wide facilities. Our comprehensive, participatory assessment and planning process evaluated their 25-bed critical access hospital, three medical clinics (located in the communities of Glencoe, Stewart, and Lester Prairie), 108-resident skilled nursing facility, and a 40-unit senior living apartment complex.
