We are delighted for the chance to work with the Jackson-Madison County School System (JMCSS) on its reimagined Malesus Innovation School. With a strong existing facility and curriculum but a need to expand its offerings to include a STEM Innovation Center, Malesus engaged our team to renovate an older building to develop a campus hub where hands-on learning could flourish. Our Tennessee predecessor Hart Freeland Roberts (HFR) designed this original building in the 1960s, and we’re proud to carry on their legacy by bringing it up to modern standards to best serve the students of JMCSS.
Designed for middle school-aged children, the curriculum in the STEM innovation program will be geared towards preparing students for the industrial workforce with course offerings including mechatronics, robotics, cyber-security, gaming and bio-STEM. Additionally, to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit, students can take advantage of a dedicated “maker” space.
