The Morgan County Jail is a 424-bed adult detention facility with an expansion capability to 600 beds. Housing both male and female, the jail facilitates the classification of inmates into minimum, medium, and maximum security. The facility also contains sheriff’s administrative offices, jail administrative offices, inmate receiving, two special/medical housing units, food service, and inmate program services, including a multi-purpose room, library, indoor exercise, and spaces for inmate counseling. State-of-the-art security electronics used include video visitation and video arraignment. With housing in a pod-type configuration, the supervision of the inmate population requires a minimal number of staff.
