Westonka Public School has been working to renew it’s flagship building, the high school.
Both the performing arts center and activity center were conceived to provide enhanced services for both the District and the surrounding community. The additions were designed to be used by either group at any time which led to several unique solutions, especially as related to building security. The performing arts center with its 600-seat auditorium, full fly loft, orchestra pit, spacious green room, and scene shop provides the district with a space that significantly improves on the current 200-seat lecture hall that serves as the former performance space.
The activity center includes three full-size courts, elevated walking track, fitness room, cardio room, wrestling gym, and community meeting room to provide a space for the community to gather as well as additional practice space for the school’s numerous athletic programs.
