In 2015, Wold worked with New Prague Area Schools to develop a master plan for the district that revolved around meeting the needs of both the District and the larger community through the renovation and expansion of the central campus building.
One of the largest aspects of broad-based need revolved around the addition of a new aquatic center and renovation of existing gym spaces to create a community center for the district. Roughly half of the existing building was demolished and redeveloped to accommodate the new aquatic center. New spaces include a 40 meter eight lane pool with an adjustable, floating bulkhead between the diving area and competitive lanes. The pool areas have a zero-depth entry, separate splash pool for younger participants, moving current pool for rehabilitation and training, and spectator seating. Support spaces include new and renovated locker rooms, multiple community rooms, vending and concessions and an outdoor patio area. The entire project was a collaboration between the school district and city, and serves as a great model for collaboration and repurposing of community amenities for the future.
