Wold Architects and Engineers worked closely with Owatonna Public Schools and the community at large to design a high school with relevant learning environments to support the future of education.
The new Owatonna High School was designed around the future of career exploration, via three Career Pathways. The building was designed to create small learning communities and to feature prominently in the commons of the building spaces in which hands-on learning occurs, including nursing, culinary arts, digital fabrication, science & engineering, yearbook/publications, and a digital studio. As a part of the design process, the District and Wold collaborated extensively with business partners to design learning environments that promote experiences students will have when they leave high school. The end result was a building that reflects the values of the community and of Owatonna’s bright future.
