Home to 83 seniors, the Prairie Ridge Center consists of four cottages designed for the staff to provide resident-centric care.
Three of the four cottages hold 24 beds with small, residentially-scaled common spaces, including living rooms, dining, serving kitchens, and porches. The fourth cottage has 11 beds for memory care patients.
Each resident has a private and over 350-square-feet, with a private bathroom and shower. The design creates a pleasant, inviting place for seniors, focusing on being home and fostering independence for residents. A town center serving the cottages functions as an entrance into the campus and emulates a park with replica area landmarks, a play area for children, and a treat shop. These features encourage family and community members to use the space and foster an intergenerational community.
