Our relationship with the City of Redwood Falls and the greater Redwood area spans the entire community, from their local school district to their county and municipal governments. This collaboration has allowed a variety of opportunities for the community to integrate services, share resources, and build facilities that are flexible across the Redwood area residents' needs.
The Redwood Area Community Center represents a collaboration between the school district and the City of Redwood Falls that started in 1999 with a referendum that financed the design and construction of a new community center. This community center includes space for large and small meetings, fitness, sports, and hockey. The multi-use fieldhouse provides practice space for the school district, adult team sports, and track and field with a running track regulation.
In 2015, with growth in the community and the community center's popularity, an expansion was needed to accommodate added fitness studio space, added weight training space, and senior citizens. Keeping health and wellness at the forefront, the addition and renovation include a senior center that incorporates senior dining and gameplay with the existing concessions kitchen. A new fitness studio was added for aerobics, dance, stationary bikes and senior citizen exercise classes.
The facility was completed in 2016 and continues the collaboration between the City of Redwood Falls and the local school district, and the facility fosters multi-generational interactions.
