St. Anthony Regional Hospital partnered with Wold to plan and design improvements to their senior living and long-term care facilities, but the new assisted living campus is a unique project as it completes the full continuum of care for their residents. Garden View Assisted Living is a two-story, 36-unit assisted living community, designed to offer the same excellent care and amenities associated with St. Anthony Regional Hospital to the residents of Carroll, Iowa.
The planning and design process matched the unique nature of the project, this was a new service being offered by St. Anthony Regional Hospital, thus the Core Planning Group had to be educated on the current trends and standards associated with assisted living communities. The group toured regional facilities, met with their leadership and staff, and developed the planning and design criteria required to create the right assisted living facility for their community.
Located on the St. Anthony Regional Hospital campus, Garden View Assisted Living Community offers one and two-bedroom apartments and a host of amenities for the residents, including a beautiful chapel, multi-purpose room, central and private dining areas, a spa/salon, an exercise area, a resident library, and even a pub for game days! True to its name, many of the resident apartments overlook a community garden complete with a walking trail, seating areas, and a grotto as the central design element that brought this amenity back to the community of Carroll.
Designed with seniors in mind, Governor Kim Reynolds remarked in the grand opening, “You’ve built a warm, inviting, safe place for area seniors to age safely while receiving quality care.” This is a testament to a project that was so well received by the community that it was fully occupied shortly after its opening and now has a healthy wait-list due to its popularity in the region.
