The St. Croix County Health Center has been serving the needs of its residents in New Richmond, Wisconsin, since 1897.
Wold was selected to design three new skilled nursing households for 50 aging adults. These households, two of 17 residents and one of 16 residents, have their own living rooms, dining rooms, and ample family spaces. Rooms are designed to be private – even the semi-private rooms have walls to provide autonomy for the residents. A separate and distinct household of 10 will be devoted to crisis dementia stabilization for residents with dementia and potential behavioral issues. The existing Health Center was remodeled to provide a home for 40 assisted living community-based residential facility (CBRF) residents with eight one-bedroom units and 32 studio-style units.
To create these senior living environments, Wold facilitated a planning and design process involving the communities, organizational leaders, care team staff, and campus residents to collaboratively develop the plan for transforming this campus relationship with the MHC Team.
