Our team was hired to support the State of Tennessee Department of General Services (STREAM) for its interior renovation of the 1st floor tenant space for the TN Arts Commission in the Rachel Jackson Building. Located across from the Tennessee State Capitol, the space was originally designed in the 1980s for daily use by the Arts Commission staff to house central spaces for both internal staff and the public to present new projects for grant consideration.
Design is underway on the ground floor and main lobbies to give the building a fresh look and a more secure space for the Commission and community. Our team has incorporated many key elements into the upcoming remodel to support the significance of the space, including a small local art gallery to show off local art pieces.
The main lobby will include a two-story open space next to a set of monumental stairs to serve as the main focal point of the entry, and a key accent wall with a mixture of wood panels and zero- maintenance reindeer moss will bring some much-needed greenery into the building. We are excited to support this unique Nashville-centric renovation for our community and are eager to see it come to life over the next five years.
