As Summit County expects a population increase in the coming years, the Summit School District wanted to better understand the facility conditions and capacities across their eight school facilities and district support facilities, looking at the potential for enrollment growth. The resulting master plan and district-wide bond enabled the district to expand and implement their Vision2020 program, developed by the school board. Vision2020 pushes education within the district to champion student success, empower student-centered learning and develop caring learners. Fulfilling Vision2020 resulted in the remodel of media centers and STEM learning areas across the district at all age groups, implementing blended learning and a 1:1 student to technology device model to expand classroom boundaries and foster individual learning. All of the district-wide implementations work to serve the district’s mission in developing lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
