A winning university football program can generate tremendous benefits to the campus and local community. It can boost the local economy, strengthen the community/campus relationship, create spirit and pride in the student body, and generate publicity and visibility that increases student enrollment. The proposed new Tucker Stadium West is critical to Tennessee Tech's football success. Our quality student athletes are at a disadvantage in the current facility, and the University is forfeiting the opportunities the benefits a new stadium can bring.
The proposed new Tucker Stadium West is estimated at 87,000 gross square feet and will be located on the site of the existing West Stands. Demolition of the existing West Stands is included in the scope of this project. The facility will provide three levels of seating, concessions, spirit shop, ticket booths, game day locker room, and the ancillary spaces required to support game day activities.
Premium seating will generate revenues and energize our fan base. The concourse level will include benchback, chairback, and drink rail seating to accommodate a total of 1750 people. The club level will provide a mixture of loge seating and chairback seating for 588 people. The suite and press box level will contain twelve suites to accommodate 12 persons each.
