Wold partnered with Uvalde Memorial Hospital’s leadership team, staff, and city to develop a comprehensive master plan for their replacement health and wellness campus.
The facilities included a full service critical access hospital, which provided outpatient care, specialty services, ambulatory and in-patient surgery, emergency services and primary/ specialty care clinics. Additionally, a therapy and rehab clinic was planned for a health and wellness expansion for community use. The health and wellness center connected to the adjacent city ballfields to create a regional hub for health and wellness in the Uvalde community.
The master campus plan was integrated into a USDA preliminary architectural feasibility study and a financial feasibility study for a funding allocation request to the Texas rural development office. The $95 million funding request was the largest healthcare request in Texas’s USDA rural development history. This partnership, along with local community funding, will help transform healthcare delivery for the region.
When addressing his experience with Wold's collaborative process, Tom Nordwick, CEO at Uvalde Memorial Hospital, stated that Wold's "approach to teaming, communication and commitment to our community are what differentiate [them]. They were there no matter what, no request or question was too small, and service and an unwavering dedication to our success were their priorities."
