Village of Baldwin - Emergency Medical Service Facility

With their existing facility a conversion of a former car dealership conversion into an emergency medical service (EMS) facility that was undersized and in disrepair, Wold was hired in July 2022 to design a purpose-built, new facility to house the EMS operations for the Village of Baldwin, Wisconsin and surrounding area.

Wold worked closely with Kraus-Anderson (KA) Construction, Baldwin’s chosen construction manager, to program the facility’s ambulance garage, administrative offices, crew quarters, and training room within the budgeted 15,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building.

By collaborating closely with KA and PEMB suppliers, Wold was able to design a facility that took full advantage of the economic benefits of the building type while designing a very functional and efficient facility, enabling quicker life-saving response times. Additionally, the 40-acre site was master planned for potential future development of a fire station, police station, and new village hall.
