The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) is a 24/7 supervised children’s mental health residential treatment center located in Willmar, Minnesota.
The building was designed for 16 children to reside in a supervised setting while they receive a higher level of care and structure to manage their mental illness and can gain the family and social interaction skills needed to return to the community. Wold was hired to design a large motor activity room addition onto the building which included a gymnasium, support spaces, courtyard, and an expansion to the parking lot on the west side of the building.
The environment was designed appropriate for an adolescent behavioral health treatment center for youths who require continual supervision and may be inclined to harm themselves or others and contemplate suicide. The design and engineering meets the State of Minnesota B3 guidelines and SB2030 energy standard requirements.
