When the eastern Colorado City of Wray wanted to ensure local healthcare services for its rural service area, it relied upon Wold’s expertise to plan and develop a cost-efficient, critical access hospital replacement facility.
Teaming with hospital staff, physicians, and the board, Wold designed an all-private room healthcare facility with integrated ambulatory and clinical care. The design features a centralized control point from which inpatient diagnostic rehabilitation and recovery services radiate. It locates various diagnostic services adjacent to exterior walls to support future expansion needs without disruption of existing spaces. Wray Community District Hospital (WCDH) attracts a number of medical professionals to this rural community, and is home to the residency program for Northern Colorado University in Greeley. Since our relationship began with the new hospital, we have worked with this WCDH to add on an MRI, updating and adding new birthing suites and most recently studying an expansion onto the growing clinical service area.
